Most people don’t work very hard.  It’s a fact!

Some people work just hard enough to keep their jobs.  And although most people stay busy on the job, they are not particularly productive.  The reason is that they are not trying to productive.  They’re just trading time for a paycheck and have no focus on career advancement.

Even if you are only modestly ambitious, you will rise to the top third of nearly any organization.  You’ll stand a better chance of getting a raise or a job promotion by working just a little harder and a little smarter.

But if you’re truly serious about ‘climbing to the top of the ladder’ and create an abundance of wealth, you’ll need to be hard working and VERY efficient.  Efficiency will attract wealth.  These are simple work habits that can be developed by anyone for guaranteed career advancement.

But what if you feel you’re not as talented, or not as smart as some of your peers?  Or what if they have better business contacts or other advantages in your company?  You can still surpass them, get the job promotion and earn the bigger paycheck.  How?

Show up earlier and stay a little later on the job.  This short term strategy can pay off big in the long run.

Working a few extra hours is a proven strategy for abundance of success.  The trick is to avoid focusing on the short term and think long term about your financial goals.  Don’t think in terms of having a ‘job’ – instead think in terms of having a ‘career’.  This perspective can help you build the DESIRE to come into work early and stay late.  To the career minded individual, work is fun, stimulating and rewarding!

By showing up an hour early (before everyone else in your office) you can really focus without ANY interruptions.  Successful business people often say that an hour of un-interrupted work is the equivalent of 3 hours of work during normal office hours.  And staying late for only an extra half an hour can give you even more of an edge in productivity.

If family commitments make it impossible to put in a little extra time, you can still excel on the job through efficiency.  Here are a few things that ultra successful business people do to accelerate career advancement:

1. Every Monday morning, outline your goals for the week.

2. Every morning, outline your goals for the day – based on your weekly goals.

4.  Manage yourself.  Even though you have a boss, self-manage your time and your job.

5.  Think big.  If you think like the owner of the company, you will gain a fresh and positive perspective of your job and its importance to the company.  This perspective will help you clearly see how to excel and will help you appreciate your boss (even if you don’t like him).

As long as we have to work for a living, why not work hard, have fun, and rack up accomplishments.  Plus, you'll be increasing your abundance of wealth by earning more money through career advancement!
