Techniques to Attract
Wealth
Wouldn’t it be nice
to attract wealth in the form
of a bigger paycheck? Well of course it
would!
There are 2 paths
that lead to an abundance of success – getting a raise or
finding a new job, your keys to career
advancement.
Getting a
raise:
1. Think
like the owner of the company. Although this is not
always easy to do, it can definitely help you gain a positive
perspective on your job, your co-workers jobs, and even your
boss (whom you may not even like). By seeing your job
responsibilities as part of a bigger picture, you may be able
to find ways to not only improve your job performance, but
think of creative ways to add more value to what you do at
work. By increasing your value, you are increasing your
worth to the company. This is what leads to your
abundance of
wealth.
2. Know your market. Find out what
the average salary is for your position. Online
salary sites such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics and
industry web sites are great places to start – keeping in
mind that salaries vary in different geographic
areas. If you are already at the top salary for your
position, it may be time to seek a promotion or look for a
new job.
3.
Ask. If you feel you deserve a raise, ask for one!
Sometimes to attract wealth,
all we have to do is ask for it. Be prepared to show your
boss how you have increased your value to the company. If
your boss does not agree, ask how you can improve your worth to
the company and request a six month review. Schedule the
review, improve your worth, and ask again in six
months.
Getting a
new job:
4.
To enahce your abundance of success through career advancement, don’t
necessarily accept a new job offer immediately. Employers
will be interested in you and make you an offer if you are able
to demonstrate your worth, show strong references, and you know
your market. If you feel the offer isn’t as high as you
deserve, don’t hesitate to ask for more. Fifty-eight
percent of hiring managers make a first offer that can be
renegotiated (according to a CareerBuilder.com survey).
Nearly six out of ten hiring managers will increase their offer
once. And one in ten will increase the offer two or more
times if they feel you are valuable to their company.
Only 30% of hiring managers consider their first offer
final. If you know you are worth more, ask for
more. This tells your potential new employer that you
intend to become a valuable asset to the new
company.
5. Think long term. If you are seeking employment
with a new company (or even a new position with your current
employer) make sure that there is a learning opportunity within
your new position. Get paid to learn new skills rather
than taking a position that will require no personal
growth. Make sure the new job challenges you to add value
to your long term career. Learning is the key to
career advancement
and expanding your abundance of wealth.
As your
value increases, so will your paycheck and your ongoing
abundance of success!
